"The Place Where Lightning Is Dispersed" in THE MAGIC MUSIC BOX Broadway musical

The Weatherman sings “The Place Where Lightning is Dispersed” in THE MAGIC MUSIC BOX original musical, the first story of THE WHIRLWIND CHRONICLES novel/musical series.

VERSE:

Welcome to “The Place

Where Lightning Is Dispersed,”

And I’m the Weatherman,

I’m extremely well-versed

In blizzards and thunder,

Now and then I make a blunder,

But I like to count the clouds,

And adjust the sunshine meter.

My storehouses are full of snow;

It’s a job I won’t outgrow.

VERSE:

Yes, this is the place

Where weather is rehearsed.

It takes a lot of work;

You’ve caught me at my worst!

The rain jugs are rusty.

Buttons are a little dusty.

Shucks, I see a bit of steam!

Ooo, it seems a panel’s smoking.

Oh, lately I’ve been super blocked.

This week’s pay will sure be docked.

BRIDGE:

I don’t have a screw loose!

I’m an expert, and I’ll deduce!

Why the machine is broken!

But it’s a token of bigger issues!

Someone get me the tissues!

VERSE:

Since you’ve seen “The Place

Where Lightning Is Dispersed,”

I think you can detect,

That I feel sort of cursed.

I know I’ve been cranky,

Sidetracked by some hanky panky!

It’s been tricky, but I’m tryin’

To avoid this vicious lady,

Who muddled my creative drive.

I’ve forgotten how to thrive!

TAG:

So watch me as I scurry to fix the equipment!

I’m off to send a flurry; I’m late on my shipment,

Of every form of precipitation! The climate’s been a blur,

Especially in the land of Zur, but don’t worry; I’ll hurry!

I’m sending rain, and this time I’ll get it right

from “The Place Where Lightning Is Dispersed.”
