If I were to live for a thousand years,
I’d be a paper crane without any fears,
But since it’s hard to live that long in strength,
I’d wish for something more with a shorter length.
I’d fold one thousand cranes and wish for true love.
Paper cranes would become like a beautiful dove,
With happiness and fortune, almost like spring.
I’d be a queen and marry a majestic king.
