"The Little Things that Hold Up the Sky," A LOVE SONG

When the heavens are crashing all around,

And gravity tries to pull me down,

You always keep me together,

Like the anchor that acts as a tether.

The corners of your smile, the light in your eyes,

Are the little things that hold up the sky.

Your fingers extend, and your arms open wide,

Just the little things that hold up the sky.

Like a hot air balloon that never gives up,

You soar and don't ever get stuck.

Take me with you through the ceiling.

You give me the most incredible feelings.

The corners of your smile, the light in your eyes,

Are the little things that hold up the sky.

Your fingers extend, and your arms open wide,

Just the little things that hold up the sky.

You make the sun, moon, and stars fly.

Without your love, I don’t know how on earth I’d survive.

I don’t think I would ever get by, not even one time.

The corners of your smile, the light in your eyes,

Are the little things that hold up the sky.

Your fingers extend, and your arms open wide,

Just the little things that hold up the sky.

The little things that hold up the sky.

The little things that hold up the sky.

"The Place Where Lightning Is Dispersed" in THE MAGIC MUSIC BOX Broadway musical

The Weatherman sings “The Place Where Lightning is Dispersed” in THE MAGIC MUSIC BOX original musical, the first story of THE WHIRLWIND CHRONICLES novel/musical series.

VERSE:

Welcome to “The Place

Where Lightning Is Dispersed,”

And I’m the Weatherman,

I’m extremely well-versed

In blizzards and thunder,

Now and then I make a blunder,

But I like to count the clouds,

And adjust the sunshine meter.

My storehouses are full of snow;

It’s a job I won’t outgrow.

VERSE:

Yes, this is the place

Where weather is rehearsed.

It takes a lot of work;

You’ve caught me at my worst!

The rain jugs are rusty.

Buttons are a little dusty.

Shucks, I see a bit of steam!

Ooo, it seems a panel’s smoking.

Oh, lately I’ve been super blocked.

This week’s pay will sure be docked.

BRIDGE:

I don’t have a screw loose!

I’m an expert, and I’ll deduce!

Why the machine is broken!

But it’s a token of bigger issues!

Someone get me the tissues!

VERSE:

Since you’ve seen “The Place

Where Lightning Is Dispersed,”

I think you can detect,

That I feel sort of cursed.

I know I’ve been cranky,

Sidetracked by some hanky panky!

It’s been tricky, but I’m tryin’

To avoid this vicious lady,

Who muddled my creative drive.

I’ve forgotten how to thrive!

TAG:

So watch me as I scurry to fix the equipment!

I’m off to send a flurry; I’m late on my shipment,

Of every form of precipitation! The climate’s been a blur,

Especially in the land of Zur, but don’t worry; I’ll hurry!

I’m sending rain, and this time I’ll get it right

from “The Place Where Lightning Is Dispersed.”

"Living Stones," A GOSPEL SONG

VERSE:

It might look like just another rock,

But it’s not a pebble in the pond.

You can hold it in your hand,

And it helps you understand,

Miracles from long ago for today

Are just a stone’s throw away.

CHORUS:

Living stones that cry out among you.

Memories of faithfulness that I left with you.

You may remember all the days of your life,

Like an altar by divine design.

Living stones that cry out among you.

VERSE:

Don’t forget where you’ve come from.

Don’t forget when you felt numb,

And I filled you with my Spirit,

And my love you did inherit.

If you rub two stones together,

You can start a fire forever.

CHORUS:

Living stones that cry out among you.

Memories of faithfulness that I left with you.

You may remember all the days of your life,

Like an altar by divine design.

Living stones that cry out among you.

BRIDGE:

I dried up the land, and you crossed over,

Even when it was hard to keep your composure.

And then of course there is the stone,

That I rolled away and took the throne.

CHORUS:

Living stones that cry out among you.

Memories of faithfulness that I left with you.

You may remember all the days of your life,

Like an altar by divine design.

Living stones that cry out among you.

TAG:

In remembrance of me, all in remembrance of me.

In remembrance of me, all in remembrance of me.
