"Patchwork Quilt," A LOVE SONG

VERSE:

Like scraps all over the floor,

Leftover with jagged ends,

Is how your fabric feels,

But it can be beautiful again.

Torn and worn out,

Still, it can be mended.

I’ll show you how.

CHORUS:

Let me pick up the pieces of your heart.

Let me start to put them back together.

It’s a patchwork quilt, a work of art,

That I will always treasure.

CHORUS:

Small blocks make a frame.

On the front, you see the pattern.

From behind it’s a mess.

A knotted life that’s tattered.

But wrap yourself around me,

And I’m so glad it’s you

Who’s found me.

CHORUS:

Let me pick up the pieces of your heart.

Let me start to put them back together.

It’s a patchwork quilt, a work of art,

That I will always treasure.

BRIDGE:

Each piece has a purpose.

You can’t see it on the surface.

It might be bigger that you wanted,

Or smaller than you needed,

But the overall design is genius.

CHORUS:

Let me pick up the pieces of your heart.

Let me start to put them back together.

It’s a patchwork quilt, a work of art,

That I will always treasure.

TAG:

You keep me warm, and I’ll keep you safe.

With a patchwork quilt that’s full of grace.

You keep me warm, and I’ll keep you safe.

With a patchwork quilt that’s full of grace, oh.
