American Valentine: The Story of Esther Howland

American Valentine,

Won’t you be mine?

Send me a card on time,

And make your love note rhyme.

Lace paper and cupid

Make last-minute notes stupid.

Bouquets of roses

Lead to lifelong proposes.

With glue and flowers,

Romance showers.

Trim a beating heart.

That’s a place to start.

Stick soul in your card.

Stencils avant garde.

Sign your name with love.

Envelopes fit like a glove.

My heart is warm to you.

To one who loves so true.

American Valentine,

Won’t you be mine?
