"Catnap" in THE HORSE GATE

Effie Fortney and Isabel the cat sing "Catnap" in THE HORSE GATE original musical, the second story in THE WHIRLWIND CHRONICLES novel/musical series.

VERSE:
A catnap can get you
Into all kinds of trouble,
If you don’t have whiskers,
And you don’t have paws.
You might want to think again,
And don’t break the laws
Of cause and effect,
Try to protect yourself.

CHORUS:
Wisdom and wonder,
I'm torn asunder.
I've got a fur ball in my face.
My feline friend lacks grace.

VERSE:
A catnap can leave you
Oh so drowsy,
If you're not a kitty,
And you're not a cat.
You don't want to grow a tail
And act like a brat
That throws such a fit.
Better to sit so still.

CHORUS:
Logic and reverence,
I want a severance.
I've got a wet nose in my ear.
A tomcat needs to hear.

BRIDGE:
Kittens leave you smitten,
With a smile written on your lips,
But let me give you some tips:
Better to have a good long dream
Of milk and cheese and ice cream.

VERSE:
A catnap can get you
Into all kinds of trouble,
If you don’t have whiskers,
And you don’t have paws.
You might want to think again,
And don’t break the laws
Of cause and effect,
Try to protect yourself.

TAG:
A catnap can get you into all kinds of trouble.
We can't sit here in this bubble!
A catnap can get you into all kinds of trouble.
Let's get moving on the double!
